The Los Angeles Clippers are still in the process of changing their team image and culture and with superstar forward Blake Griffin they are garnering respect as never before. The Clippers are coming off a highly successful season in which they went 40-26 SU and 33-33 ATS and made the second round of the playoffs before being eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs in 4 straight games. It is because of all of that that the Clippers are a 21/1 choice in NBA odds to win the 2013 championship.

It all begins with Griffin who led the Clippers with 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Chris Paul is another key component to the Clippers as he averaged 9 assists per game and demonstrated the ability to effectively quarterback the offense. Griffin and Paul rank as the top power forward and point guard combo in the league and have had a significant impact in turning this long time joke of a franchise around and taking some attention away from the Los Angeles Lakers. While Griffin and the Clippers are 25/1 longshots in NBA odds to win the 2013 championship, the team are also 12/1 favorites to win the Western Conference title.

The Clippers also have some respected names that will come off the bench led by Grant Hill, Lamar Odom and Chauncey Billups. Hill is quite a story as the sixth man as he still plays well at 40 years of age. One area that is still a question mark is coach Vinny Del Negro as he is an unproven commodity. A good tell as to his progress will be if the Clippers get better on defense as they were noticeably lacking in that area last year. Griffin himself must get better on defense as he has not yet made himself a complete player and until he does there is not enough here for a serious run at the title but for the Clippers these are great times indeed.
